The commission investigating the aviation disaster in Kazakhstan stated on Tuesday that an Azerbaijani plane, which crashed in December of last year in Kazakhstan while en route to Russia, was in poor technical condition. According to preliminary data, there were 98 people on board, of whom 12 died. "In the course of this investigation, it has been established that at the moment of the crash, there were serious technical problems with the aircraft, including inconsistencies in the hydraulic system," said the chairperson of the commission. She noted that the final report would be submitted after all necessary investigations are completed. "We continue to work on identifying all the causes and circumstances of this tragedy," added the commission representative. The incident took place in the Almaty region, the largest region of Kazakhstan, and has become one of the most severe in recent years. Following the disaster, the government of Kazakhstan suspended all flights of this airline and began a safety inspection of all aviation companies in the country.
