A man is holding a woman hostage at an airport, threatening to blow up the building. At that moment, a 52-year-old former Kazakhstani boxer Musa Abdul-Rakhim intervened. He offered to take the hostage's place to free the woman. The assailant got a knife, but Abdul-Rakhim decided to attack him after the girl managed to escape. The video of the incident was widely circulated on social media, and the former athlete gained international recognition for his heroism. Abdul-Rakhim recounted: "I came to the airport to have a chat with my relatives, but upon hearing the screams of the girl, I immediately rushed to her. At first, I tried to reason with the man logically, but then he suddenly pulled a knife from his hand. I was a boxer, a wrestler, and a kickboxer, but all of this was a long time ago." For his actions, Abdul-Rakhim received an award for bravery, during which time the assailant was sentenced to 12 years in prison following the investigation.
